A surprisingly good month to tour through Vietnam as long as you don’t mind high temperatures (over 30°C) in the north and south with a splash of rain. What makes it particularly attractive is that there will be fewer crowds and lower airfares and hotel prices. The best places to be are on central and south central coasts around Hue, Hoi An and Nha Trang where the sun will be shining in full force.
If you feel like a bit of soft adventure head to the UNESCO protected Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park home to the largest cave in the world. Further south, Saigon will be in the midst of the wet season with daily afternoon downpours, but nothing that should put you off visiting.
