Any holiday to Vietnam in August should include an extended stay in Hue and Hoi An on the central coast as this is where the best weather will be found with temperatures well into the 30s°C. Good beach weather can also be enjoyed slightly further south in Nha Trang.

Elsewhere in the north (Hanoi & Halong Bay) and south (Saigon & Mekong Delta) it will be warm throughout (28-30°C) with frequent afternoon heavy showers and thunderstorms. Nothing to put you off visiting but you should be prepared to get a little wet.
