By October the end of the rain is in sight and weather-wise it’s a safer bet than travelling in September if you want to enjoy the country at its most beautiful, as the green of young rice plants further deepens and flowers continue to bloom through the lush rural landscapes. The rains continue to subside as the month develops and temperatures average 27°C.

If you want to beat the crowds, time your visit for the first half of the month, but if you’re including a beach the 2nd half should see the return of dry days with just a few heavy showers.
