If you like the heat, then April in Cambodia is for you. Still largely dry, the pre-monsoon heat starts to build through the month and so within our day tours we build in a long lunch so the viewing is early and late in the day. Mornings and evenings are balmy and a stay on the beach is highly recommended. At the beginning of April temperatures will be regularly testing the low 30s°C and by the end the mid-30s will be the norm.
The Chaul Chnam (Cambodian New Year) takes place in April and makes this a fun time to visit if you’re interested in joining in the celebrations. It’s simple, just join the thousands on the street with your water bombs and soak each other! However during this period (13-17 April) a lot of public buildings and markets are closed.
