The rains finally arrive in June and for the most part the showers are hard, sharp and in the afternoon with plenty of sunshine in between. The average temperature is a very pleasant 28°C so also taking into account the lower prices and fewer tourists this is a great time to visit. The colour is also coming back to the countryside as the vibrant green of the paddy fields starts to return.
Cambodia's south coast beaches experience the heaviest downpours and the rural north east region around Mondulkiri makes it harder to get around. For a beach we can easily add Hoi An or Nha Trang on the central Vietnam coast or Koh Samui in Thailand, where the sun should be shining.
