The wet season in Laos starts in June and calling it the “Green Season” isn’t being disingenuous as the monsoon rains are characterised by sharp afternoon storms that lasts a couple of hours rather than an absolute wash-out. With the rains comes the beauty as the country greens up, the heat is dampened and the air washed clean adding clarity for those interested in photography. The northern and southern hills should be avoided.
Again June is the low season with better airfares, lower hotel prices and fewer tourists. Concentrate your touring in the morning and early afternoon to enjoy the best weather.
