Nui Sam Lodge

Grade: Medium Class

Overview

As the number of tourists visiting the Mekong Delta rises, so some visitors start to look for places slightly off the main tourist trail. Chau Doc and more particularly the Nui Sam Lodge fits the bill, as you can enjoy a day touring through the delta by road and boat, along less travelled waterways to Chau Doc on the Cambodia border.

Just outside town the Nui Sam sits atop Sam Mountain looking down over the Mekong River valley with sweeping views of a carpet of rice paddies and rural villages. A perfect choice if you’re looking for a more natural side to the country, with room to breathe and explore. Perhaps from here travel by boat the Phnom Penh in Cambodia or head down to the coast and over to Phu Quoc Island for time on the beach.

La Giang Restaurant & Bar offers great views of the valley with floor to ceiling windows and serving Vietnamese and international cuisine. Cakes, sandwiches and lunches can be enjoyed at the cosy Baguette cafe. Other facilities include a large outdoor infinity pool and a scenic walking trail through the extensive gardens filled with aromatic herbs, spices, flowers and vegetables. Bicycles are available for hire to explore the surrounding countryside and it’s a great place to mountain bike.

Cool tile floors meet sleek wood furnishings all in a palette of sage and cinnamon. They are equipped with cable TV, mini-bar and coffee/tea making amenities. The en suite bathroom comes with shower facilities, toiletries and a hair-dryer.
