Overview

The area around Wilpattu National Park is nature rich and Cloud Nine has been built sypathetically with the bulk of the thick scrub left intact to encourage the birds and monkeys to remain and for you to immediately feel that you are part of the natural environment. A relatively simple hotel that will appeal to those looking to enjoy Sri Lanka's natural slendour. Just half an hour from the quietest entrance to Wilpattu National Park, 5 minutes from the coastal mangroves that boast an amazing range of birds and as a "Loris hotspot" the ideal place from which to start a guided evening Loris watching tour!

Facilities

The central section of the hotel revolves around the large swimming pool and restaurant. From here a spiderweb of paths spread out to the rooms set in the scrub forest. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the surrounding contryside, lagoon and sea either with your private guide or the hotel's resident naturalist. 

Rooms

The rooms radiate through the forest and offer a good degree of privacy. All have large en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee facilities and safe. At the back each also have a terrace that look directly out into the bush. Perfect for bird watching.

Leopard Trails

Overview

By all means tell friends and family that you’re going camping in Sri Lanka, but if you stay at Leopard Trails don’t show them the photos. Made up of just 6 luxurious and large tents it sits just outside the Wilpattu National Park and can’t be beaten if you want to immerse yourselves in the sights, sounds and feel of the jungle, sharing stories around the camp fire and enjoying superb Sri Lankan cuisine by candle light - very atmospheric.

Facilities

It's really all abou the location and enjoying luxurious camp life. With an open bar and multiple locations for dining meal times are an experience to look forward to.

Rooms

There are 2 levels of tent. The generous (300 sqft) Deluxe tents feature comfortable double beds, polished wooden floors, fans, en-suite bathrooms with showers and large verandah. The Leopard Trails Suites are ideal for families and those who would like a little extra luxury. These tents are 700 sqft, boast air conditioning and fans and large verandahs .
