Overview
For most, the perfect end to any holiday is a few days on the beach and from Saigon you have 3 very different choices. Mui Ne / Phan Thiet are on the same bay 5 hours by train or car from Saigon, perfect for those who'd prefer not to add further flights and would like a more established resort with plenty of restaurants and bars. Alternatively an hour's flight takes you to Phu Quoc Island or the Con Dao Islands, still relatively undeveloped beach destinations ringed by beautiful beaches. The 4th option is to fly an hour north to Nha Trang, boasting beautiful beaches and luxury hideaway resorts. Alternatively miss out Saigon and stay in Hoi An, upgrading to one of first class hotel's on the beach.
Day 1: After 3 nts in Saigon fly or drive to your choice of beach resort for 3 nights or more
Days 2-3: 2 days to relax on the beach, enjoy the hotel's facilities & perhaps take an optional excursion
Day 4: Perhaps extend beach stay? Otherwise afternoon airport transfer and overnight flight home
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Saigon For The Beach
A great way to end any holiday, this morning either leave Saigon by train or car to Mui Ne / Phan Thiet on the east coast, fly one hour to Phu Quoc Island or Con Son Island or 1 hour north to Nha Trang on the south-central coast. On arrival you'll be met and transferred to your choice of hotel for 3 nights or more. We only use 3 nights as an example.
Days 2-3: Beach Days (B)
2 full days to enjoy your beachside location, relax by the pool, stroll along the beach and perhaps take explore the surrounding seas. Below is a short write up of each of the 3 favourite destinations that are in easy reach of Saigon.
Mui Ne / Phan Thiet
If you'd rather avoid further flights then either Mui Ne or Phan Thiet are the best choice. Found on the same bay, 5 hours east of Saigon these are well established beach resorts that appeal to those who’d like a little more to do whilst by the sea. We'd recommend that you take the train out from Saigon as this shows you a little more of Vietnam and then back to the airport by car. All transfers are included.
Phu Quoc Island
The island of Phu Quoc is just a 1 hour flight south of Saigon and is a favourite with clients because it’s still relatively untouched by mass tourism and offers a range of hotels that can offer access to local restaurants and beach bars or “away-from-it-all” atmosphere that will be gone in a few years’ time. Something for everyone.
Con Dao Islands
Just a short flight from Saigon brings you to this former penal colony that now seems destined to become one of South East Asia’s up and coming beach destinations. All the necessary natural attractions are in place as Con Dao is a maritime and terrestrial National Park and is at the forefront of Vietnam’s marine conservation
Nha Trang
A hour north of Saigon on the mainland you'll find Nha Trang the beach capital of Vietnam with the longest municipal beach in the country, dry climate and average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Head out of the main resort and stay in one of the luxury hideaway resorts that dot the beautiful coastline and show the region off at its best.
Day 4: Beach (B) - Departure Transfer - Fly Home
Why not add a few more days relaxing on the beach? If it's time to say goodbye enjoy a final morning on the beach then transfer to the airport and fly home overnight.
