Pristine Lotus Spa Resort

Grade - First Class

Overview

The Pristine Lotus Resort is beautifully laid out within a landscaped hillside garden that gently slopes down to the lake. A nearby hot spring provides hot water for all the split-level wooden chalets and the Balinese style spa that features open air jacuzzis set into the natural rock surround. Although not offering panoramic lake views, the private jetty offers quick access to the lake.

Facilities

The Padonma Spa with open air naturally heated Jacuzzis is a great draw and the pool is a good size. The circular restaurant that overlooks the gardens can be converted from al fresco to covered depending on the weather.

Rooms

The boat-shaped Floating Duplex rooms have a traditional style with a balcony and views of the Shan Mountains, while the spacious Inle Lotus Villas are more modern in design with terrace opening onto the gardens. All are furnished to a high standard with teakwood four poster beds plus local handcrafted touches.

Sanctum Inle Resort

Grade - First Class

Overview

The Sanctum Inle Resort is modelled on a European Monastery, but as a luxury hotel luckily sees no irony in making your stay as comfortable and indulgent as possible. Perhaps taking its monastic design to heart it sits slightly away from the lake, but is connected by a series of serene natural canals that create a feeling of cosseted seclusion.

Facilities

Set in attractive lush grounds you’ll find a large pool with sun terrace offering beautiful views over Inle Lake and to the hills beyond. The Refectory offers a superb quality of dining, with the emphasis on local Shan specialities complemented by wider Burmese fare. End the day with a Cuban cigar in the Cigar Bar or a Burmese beer in the Cloister Bar. The hotel also boasts a gymnasium and the Sanctuary Spa with an extensive list of treatments. If you feel like exploring under your own steam borrow one of the hotel’s bikes.

Rooms

The 96 rooms are beautifully designed featuring natural wood floors, high ceilings, spacious bathrooms and private terraces. All are air-conditioned with safety deposit box.

Inle Princess Resort

Hotel Grade - Deluxe

Overview

Nestled in a lagoon like inlet slightly away from the main lake, you know you’ve made the right choice as your boat has to kill its engine and a hotel boatman brings you in by oar power alone. This sums up the feeling of calm that pervades the most luxurious hotel on the lake. The added bonus is that you can explore a little on foot or by bike with a vineyard and village in relatively close proximity.

Facilities

Herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables grown in the hotel garden form the base for the superb traditional Shan & Intha cuisine served in the restaurant. Before dinner enjoy a drink on the terrace that has the best views of the lake. Private candle light dinners are also available in the Wine Cave. If not exploring the lake you’ll find a sizeable swimming pool with plenty of deck space on which to relax and a spa that offers a range of treatments and massages.

Rooms

46 very spacious stilted wooden chalets built by local craftsmen, lined with sheets of woven bamboo and furnished with Burmese textiles. Each has a working open fire to help keep you cosy during winter months when the evenings can be cool. If the budget can stretch, book a Lake Front View Chalet. Each Lake View Chalet has a terrace facing the lake and the Garden View Chalets look inwards to colourful gardens and lily pad strewn pond.
