Hoi An offers visitors a fantastic range of excursions, tours and experiences that should suit any interest whether it be the history of the UNESCO Old Town,  the beauty of the surrounding countryside or water based adventure in the river and sea. Below are a range of excursions that can be added to your itinerary or replace those that we include in the tour.


Hoi An Countryside Vespa Adventure & Food Tour - £86 per person

This afternoon you’ll be picked up from the hotel by your Vespa driver Vespa Hoi An swho will whisk you out over the river to explore the beautiful countryside and villages that surround Hoi An town. Your first stop will be Duy Hai fishing village where you learn how the distinctive bamboo basket boats are made and get a chance to try them out for yourselves. The area is also famous for making some Vietnam’s best fish sauce and you’ll see how it’s made and sample banh xeo, a delicious savoury Vietnamese pancake.

From here head out further into the countryside zig zagging through the peaceful villages and crossing a bamboo bridge out into the emerald green scenery and lush farmlands. Stop to see how local rice wine and crispy rice crackers are made. The afternoon ends in a farming village to learn more about daily life village and to try some My Quang, a famous local dish made with fresh noodles. From here it’s a short ride over the Cam Kim Bridge into Hoi An as the sun begins to set on this beautiful heritage town.


Hoi An Sidecar Experience (1 hour) - £24 per person

Soak up the stunning countryside scenery surrounding Hoi An as you board your vintage Ural motorbike and sidecar. On this one-hour tour leave Hoi An behind and delve into the countryside, rolling past endless emerald-green paddy fields, farmers working in the fields and the ever present water buffalo. The perfect way to soak up the Vietnamese countryside.


Cooking Day at Red Bridge Cooking School - £57 per person

This morning visit the local produce market before cruising along the Thu Bon River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. Here you will tour the school’s herb gardens and enjoy an informal cooking lesson. Your chef will explain the secrets of popular Hoi An specialties. The town is famous for dishes like Cao Lau, a medley of a yellow noodles, pork slices and pickled hot peppers, and Mi Quang, a noodle dish featuring boiled quails eggs and chunks of baked rice cakes. Enjoy lunch (prepared by you) and then you’ll be transferred back to the hotel.


Hoi An Farmer & Fisherman Group Tour - £64 per person

Spend the afternoon at a local community farming project just outside Hoi An on this small group tour. Hoi An FishingStart with a short bike ride of about 30 minutes along village roads and small paths between the paddy fields. Stop at Tra Que village, a charming settlement that’s famous for its sweet scented green vegetables that spice up Hoi An’s famous delicacies such as Cao Lau and Mi Quang. Join them in the fields and learn about their planting and harvesting techniques.

Head back to Hoi An for a cruise along the river and to meet a fisherman who will show you the secrets of throwing the large nets. If you’re lucky you might catch some fish! Next up is a lesson in seamanship as you hop into a basket boat. These unusual round vessels are locally known as a coracle and are used widely. Have a go at paddling your basket across the water - it’s not as hard as it looks! Back at hotel late afternoon. Tour lasts approximately 5 hours.


Hoi An - Countryside Cycling - £47 per person

cycling smallMeet your cycle guide in the hotel lobby at 2pm and set off for a gentle ride through the verdant countryside before arriving at Tra Que, a charming village that’s famous for its sweet scented green vegetables that spice up Hoi An’s fantastic food. You will be taken around the village, introduced to its history and on to a farm where you can join the farmers in preparing the land and planting some crops. Enjoy an informal cooking demonstration and the chance to try some local delicacies such as ‘tam huu’ spring rolls and banh xeo, which is a local pancake dish that is popular in central Vietnam. On the way back to Hoi An stop at Nhat tomb and Ba Le Well. Back at the hotel late afternoon.


Paddle from the Mangrove Forest to the Ancient town - £32 per person

Hoi An KayakThis afternoon your private driver will collect and transfer you to the Hoi An Kayak Centre where you meet your private guide who will take you on a 2 hour kayak tour past the mangroves and coconut plantations into the edge of Hoi An’s Old Town. There will be a safety briefing and life jackets and water are provided. The tour is aimed at all abilities and takes in Hoi An’s riverscape paddling past the coconut plantations, mangroves and homes that line the banks of the Thu Bồn River all the way to Hoi An An’s Old Town. Return transfers are included from the town to your hotel.
